Bio
Elizabeth Torres (previously Horneber) is a poet and essayist in southern Minnesota with publications in AGNI, Ecotone, Tin House, Pleiades, and elsewhere. Her work has been supported by the Kenyon Review Workshops, Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council and the Minnesota State Arts Board. She was a 2015-16 Loft Literary Center Mentor Series Fellow and was selected as an Honorable Mention for the McKnight Artist Fellowship by Cristina García in 2019 and Hanif Abdurraqib in 2021. She earned her MFA in Creative Writing at Minnesota State University, Mankato. She is a mentor with the Minnesota Prison Writing Workshop and serves on the board of the Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council. She teaches creative writing in Mankato, MN.
