Bio
Elizabeth Torres (previously Horneber) is a poet and essayist in southern Minnesota with publications in AGNI, Ecotone, Tin House, Hotel Amerika, and elsewhere. Her work has been supported by the Kenyon Review Workshops, Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council and the Minnesota State Arts Board through an Artist Initiative Grant and a Creative Support for Individuals Grant. She was a 2015-16 Loft Literary Center Mentor Series Fellow and was selected as an Honorable Mention for the McKnight Artist Fellowship by Cristina García in 2019 and Hanif Abdurraqib in 2021. She earned her MFA in Creative Writing at Minnesota State University, Mankato. She is a mentor with the Minnesota Prison Writing Workshop and teaches creative writing in Mankato, MN.
Her poetry manuscript, The House of Bliss, was recently longlisted for the Dzanc Poetry Prize.
